many networks put their “new” shows on in the fall and if they don’t get the ratings they can cancel them and replace them “Midseason” with other shows.( epecially with shows that they know get decent ratings)
and they often stagger Production of TV shows- they are not all made at the same time
it all has to do with the Ratings and Money- the big ratings times are Feb/May/ July/November
